Lamb Shares
Lamb shares are an economical way to fill your freezer with high quality, farm-to-table meat! Shares are calculated by price per lb in hanging weight, plus butcher processing fees. Deposits are non-refundable and will go toward the total cost of your share. The cost is based off the hanging weight of the lamb. A whole share is typically $425, plus processing. Each lamb will vary in size, with some ranging up to 200lbs. You will receive a confirmation email and a link to our lamb cuts sheet once you have reserved your lamb share with a deposit. Upon receiving your selections, a final invoice will be sent to your email. Invoices must be paid in full, before your lamb share is picked up from the processor.
Whole Lamb: $8.50/lb, $300 deposit
Half Lamb: $9/lb, $150 deposit
Whole shares are custom cut to your specifications and include bones and organs. Half Lambs can be custom cut or you may choose our standard selection. Here is what you’ll get in a typical Half Lamb Share.
Hanging weight refers to the weight of the lamb carcass after the head, hide, and entrails have been removed, before it is cut into individual portions. It’s important to note that hanging weight is not the same as the final packaged weight. The hanging weight is approximately 50% of the live weight. After trimming and processing, the packaged meat that you will receive is approximately 70-75% of the hanging weight.
100lbs live weight x 50% = 50lbs hanging weight. 50lbs hanging weight x .70 = 35lbs packaged weight (this is only an approximate).
Share yield will greatly depend on your cut sheet selections. Whole shares yield on average between 40-70 lbs. We will retrieve your lamb from the butcher, and will deliver to our farm for pickup. Lambs require 1-2 weeks to process. Shipping is not available at this time.
In order to keep costs low, all of our lamb shares are processed at a custom exempt facility, and cannot be sold or resold as retail. A 3% fee will be added to all card payments. Please inquire for cash, check, or Venmo payment options.
While most of our sheep are exclusively grassfed, we do not label them as such as they could potentially come in contact with grain, or require the occasional supplementation to maintain their condition. Even though it’s a miniscule amount, with no real change in the care or quality, transparency is important to us.
